Umuganda Sport Club

Step 1

Engage and Listen

The first step in working with communities is actively listening to their needs, aspirations, and concerns.

Step 2

Co-create Programs and Initiatives

We actively involve community members in the planning and decision-making to ensure ownership and inclusivity.

Step 3

Develop Sustainable Partnerships

This involves not only collaborating with community members but also forging strategic alliances with other organisations, sports clubs, and stakeholders who share our vision and can contribute to the community’s well-being.

We encourage the formation of community committees or advisory groups comprising community members passionate about sports and well-being. These committees provide a platform for community members to contribute ideas, assist with program design, and ensure their voices are heard.

We work closely with community committees to design programs and initiatives that align with the community’s goals and values. This collaborative approach allows us to co-create meaningful, relevant, and impactful activities for community members. Community input is sought at each stage, from program concept development to defining target outcomes and evaluation criteria.

We actively seek to establish partnerships with community leaders and organisations who are familiar with the community’s dynamics and can serve as advocates for our initiatives.
Working with community leaders allows us to tap into their networks, gain support, and ensure our programs align with the community’s values and aspirations.
